What is Conversion Rate Optimization?

Conversion Rate Optimization is the process of optimizing your website to make progress on improving the the number of visitors that turn into customers. When a visitor converts to a paying customer it's called a conversion. The rate that your visitors convert into customers is called your conversion rate. So if 10 out of every 1,000 visitors to your website convert into customers, your conversion rate is 10/1,000, or .01%. The higher your conversion rate, the more efficient your website is generating sales. This means that every dollar you spend sending traffic to your website will deliver a better return on investment.
