Y’all this is way better than a cool background! Let’s make sure to celebrate and just express to Malarie how THANKFUL we are for her and acknowledge how hard she has been working! One might say she is the Jon Harris of the design team

Here are some kind words from someone who gets to work closely with Malarie:

Malarie designs at the speed of light. I am consistently surprised by her creativity and ability to produce quality designs at a super fast pace. She is a joy to work with and is so deserving of this month of recognition. To the Nines!” - Amanda Nicholson

Happy Hour with MB

Due to multiple requests, we’re doing Harry Potter’s Happy Hour this week. I’m not your sorting hat, so if you fancy yourself in one house, but prefer the drink of another–I’m sure you’re allowed to sample. ;D

You can find some interesting–though incredibly sweet–recipes online. I decided to choose my own and try to stick to the theme. Let me know if you would have chosen something different for these!

Sangria

It appeals to all. You can do a red or gold sangria to suit your taste. Wine + Fruit + Sparkles

You must go to Paperdoll in Birmingham for this–a Hufflepuff would be too polite to ask you to make one. ;D  Here’s a picture of one from my birthday this year

Swirl and dump the vermouth into the sink

Strain the mixed cocktail into the chilled cocktail glass.

Garnish with a skewer of olives.

Words From The Boss

I have been reading a great book this week that I would highly recommend to all my readers out there called “The 15 Commitments of Conscious Leadership. I figured it would be a good thing for me to share with you guys at a high level to help us grow as a team. Conscious Leadership is a move from having a “victim” mentality and turning it into a “creator” mentality. It is shifting from “at-the-effect-of” to consciously creating with. To me = Something should be different / By me = seeing everything unfolding as a learning and development opportunity. It is being curious vs. being right.

Commitment 1: Responsibility

By Me - I commit to taking full responsibility for the circumstances of my life, and my physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. I commit to supporting others to take full responsibility for their lives.

To Me - I commit to blaming others and myself for what is wrong in the world. I commit to being a victim, villain, or a hero and taking more or less than 100% responsibility.

So what does this mean?

Stuff happens and we will never be able to control the outside things that come at us. However, we can control our responses to those things. Over the years of starting a business and growing it I have faced several outside circumstances that I had zero control over. And when those happened in the early years I had a “woe is me” mentality.

It wasn’t until a mentor of mine spoke some life into me about not looking at what was happening to me as a negative. But instead looking at what was in front of me as a learning experience. These were opportunities for me to learn, push myself, and grow from, And I can say without a doubt that is a life changing commitment to make.

Let’s make a conscious effort to be a “By Me” mentality vs. a “To Me” company and see how it helps us reach our goal of excellence across the board!

Love you guys and can’t wait to have coffee with some of you this week!
