The Nine has hired Meg McGuire as the newest addition to its digital marketing team.
Meg is a native of Muscle Shoals, AL and comes to The Nine as a current graduate student of The University of Alabama’s Manderson Graduate School of Business. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from The University of Alabama and will achieve her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in strategic management and marketing this May.
Meg's previous work experience includes corporate communications and marketing roles at Children’s Hospital of Alabama, as well as Helen Keller Hospital. She also worked on an integrated marketing campaign that was selected to be implemented by the Country Music Foundation at CMA Fest in 2018. Meg currently serves as lead editor and oversees a 100-member staff for Alice, an ACP Pacemaker-winning, college women’s lifestyle magazine.
In 2015, Meg founded Clay’s Crew, an organization inspired by her younger brother’s story of recovery following a traumatic ATV accident. Clay’s Crew serves to create and maintain an operating community network to raise awareness and implement action on behalf of children recovering from medical trauma. Since its founding, the organization has utilized grassroots digital campaigns to raise more than $25,000 on behalf of local families and medical research foundations.
As a digital marketing specialist at The Nine, Meg will report to Paris Vega, the Marketing and Growth Director.
“Being able to step into this role before finishing my degree presents me a unique opportunity to learn and grow alongside the team at The Nine,” Meg said. “This position so beautifully aligns with what I had pictured my ‘future self’ doing during all those grueling graduate school hours in the classroom. I am a firm believer in the power of digital marketing and its capability to cultivate authentic communities for significant change. I am looking forward to being able to contribute to something bigger than myself by bringing my personal and professional experiences to The Nine’s table.”
Meet Meg McGuire!
